This green butterfly has orange accents on its grooved glass wings and black stripes all down its tail. The coordinating green bug eyes are perfectly watchful. In Europe dragonflies are considered sinister because of their "devil's darning needle" tails and "ear cutter" pincers. A Romanian folk tale deems the dragonfly a horse possessed by the devil and a Swedish tale speaks of the dragonfly as weighing down people's souls. The Norwegian name for dragonfly means "eye poker" and in Portuguese it is eye-snatcher. It is hard to believe that this beautiful glass piece could be considered anything but unique and adorable!
