World War II Aircraft - US Air Force B-25 Mitchell Bomber

This twin-engined medium bomber was manufactured by North American Aviation and was used by Allied air forces during World War II. Introduced in 1941 and retired in 1979, its career skyrocketed when B-25 Mitchell Bomber was used during the Doolittle Raid on April 18, 1942 in which mainland Japan was attacked. Designed for medium altitude, these versatile aircraft were often used for strafing and parafrag missions. The noise made by the twin engines could be deafening but the airplane was so forgiving to fly, pilots were willing to trade off. This light blue aircraft will delight a World War II veteran, air force pilot or any military history buff. Makes a great addition to a patriotic themed tree.
