Once a species considered almost extinct and threatened in the United States, the bald eagles have made a comback and are no longer in danger of losing their habitats. They prey on fish by swooping down and catching them in their talons, then using their powerful hooked beaks to eat them. Watching one of these massive birds fly so elegantly and effortlessly is an amazing sight. Native Americans still use bald eagle feathers for spiritual rituals because this powerful bird is said to be sacred.
