At OrnamentShop.com, we believe that pursuing a higher education is a key component to personal growth and greater career opportunities.  In today’s economy, pulling together all the funds necessary to attend college and further your education can be a true challenge.

Our desire is to support students who have a passion for learning and want to further their education.  This is why we decided to offer our first annual OrnamentShop.com Scholarship!  Our goal is to ease the burden of college expenses of a bright young student who showed the most unique insights in an off-season sales strategy.

We made our OrnamentShop.com scholarship available to all college/university students in the United States and we think we created a perfect challenge for students interested in finding new ways to extend our selling season.  We asked students to write an essay describing a marketing strategy to sell ornaments for the non-holiday season, February through October.

We hoped the winner of this scholarship would think creatively about developing Internet strategies.   Many entrepreneurs of the future (read: Facebook, Twitter, etc.) have thoughtful marketing concepts roaming around in their heads.  It’s our hope that our challenge excited students who aspire to create new business opportunities.

We are pleased to announce the winner of our first OrnamentShop.com scholarship:  Lucio Accorso!

Lucio is studying Accounting at State University of New York at Geneseo with an expected graduation date of May 2016.  His essay was detailed, thoughtful and progressive.  His insight into our “challenge” was quite mature and his reasoning right on target!
