Starting with the ten monkeys jumping on the bed and going down to one monkey left, is the way that many children learned how to count as toddlers, using their fingers as the monkeys. Ten little monkeys jumping on the bed. One fell off and bumped his head. Mama called the doctor and the doctor said, "No more monkeys jumping on the bed!" Along with the song the hand movements developed coordination and dexterity. This impish monkey is the last one left, taunting you by doing a little jig in the red blanket. This personalized monkey ornament shows the dreaded bed that was used as a trampoline in this story book character chant!
