The capital city of Nabataeans nestled into the heart of Jordan is famous for its rock carved architecture that was established in the 6th century BC. This highly visited tourist attraction is situated in a basin on the slope of Mount Hor. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has an elaborate water conduit system within its fortress walls. The ancient peoples used these caverns to bury their dead and worshipped in these half-excavated caves. Many people pilgrimage to Petra to marvel at places of historical and regligious significance and Petra has been deemed one of the seven wonders of the modern world. This personalized Petra ornament will make a wonderful presence on your tree, depicting the ancient ruins in the rose red rock that still stands.
