OrnamentShop.com ships all of our packages by United States Postal Service (USPS) First Class or Priority Mail. If your package weighs more than 13 ounces, it will automatically be shipped Priority Mail. During the last week to 10 days of our shipping season, we ship all orders via Priority Mail.
Throughout the year, and for most of our busy season, we ship all orders within five (5) business days of receiving the order. Starting with Black Friday, and for the next ten days or so, it may take up to seven (7) business days. In no instance, do we ever ship an order that will not arrive by the day before Christmas. If at any time you are not satisfied with our shipping schedule, you may cancel your order so long as it has not entered our personalizing department.
If you want to communicate with us about your order, please write to us at Shipping@OrnamentShop.com.. Please be sure to include your order number. It appears at the top of the confirmation we automatically send you, by e-mail, a few minutes after you order. Without it, we will have difficulty locating your order.
OrnamentShop.com uses United States Postal Service First Class or Priority Mail. The charges for these services are:
- $6.95 per address for up to 4 ornaments
- SHIPPING IS FREE per address for 5 or more ornaments
Special Shipping Charges:
Because certain items on our site are expensive to ship to you, we have added a surcharge on them. The surcharge varies depending on the item, but will be clearly stated to you on the page where you select the item and again when you are ready to check out, so there are no surprises.
Shipping to multiple addresses nullifies the free shipping, unless you are sending five or more items to the SAME address.
If you ship to more than one address, or you have items in your order that call for a shipping surcharge, your charges will vary, depending on the number of items you ship to each address and/or any applicable surcharges. Here are some “for instances:”
- If you ship less than 5 ornaments to each address, there will be a $6.95 shipping charge per address.
- If you ship 5 ornaments to one address and 4 to another, your shipping charges will be $6.95. The order with 5 ornaments will ship free, the one with 4 ornaments will be charged.
- If your order contains 4 ornaments and one item with a surcharge (a total of 5 items), standard shipping will be free, and you will be charged ONLY the surcharge.
- Let’s say your order is for 5 items, and three of them have surcharges. You will receive a credit of $6.95 (free shipping of 5 items) but will be charged 3 surcharges.
Time to Process:
The time it takes to process your order is the estimated number of business days from the date of you order, to us shipping it. In most cases, we will ship your order(s) from our warehouse within five (5) business days. Please note the following circumstances when this process may be delayed:
- If we need to verify your credit card information, shipment of merchandise will be delayed until verification is complete.
- If we have a question about your order and have tried to contact you via phone or e-mail to clarify (i.e. spelling, dates).
- If an item is temporarily out of stock and we are waiting for new inventory. In this situation you will be contacted and given the option of selecting another ornament or waiting for the product to arrive.
- If we have a question regarding the shipping address.
- See 2nd paragraph from the top of this information regarding Black Friday and the 10 days or so thereafter.
- During the season, merchandise does not ship on Sundays or public holidays.
Time in Transit
Time in transit is the estimated number of business days from shipment of your order to your receipt of it. Please note that service is from time of product shipment (there may be processing or weekend days in between). Please consider that our offices are in Lake Forest, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Our local Post Master tells us First Class mail should arrive within 2-5 business days and if your order is shipped by Priority Mail, it should arrive in 2-3 business days. Note: these are estimates and do not take weather delays into consideration or other potential United States Post Office transit delays.
When we are not responsible for the mishandling of your order by the U.S.P.S.
- If a package was sent to the address you gave us and is “determined to be undeliverable” by the U.S.P.S.
- If a package is returned to us because you entered an incorrect address, a $6.95 re-ship fee will be charged to your credit card
- If a package has been scanned by a U.S.P.S. postal carrier and confirmed as delivered and you do not have it
- If a package is Out for Delivery with your Carrier and has a “Delivery status not updated” status
- If a package is missing after being confirmed delivered by your U.S.P.S Carrier
- If an order is delayed versus the estimated delivery date
- If a package is lost while in the possession of the U.S.P.S.
- If you are a registered user and select an old address that is no longer your residence
