The Walking Dead Ornaments Steps 1 – 5

Step 1: First, remove the ornament cap and then pour some black paint inside of the glass ball ornament.  Swirl around until completely coated and pour out any remaining black paint.  Let it dry.

Step 2: While the paint is drying, mix together some of the purple and blue paint as well as a drop or two of black paint to get an eerie grey zombie color and paint the skeleton hand charms on one side.  Let dry on a paper towel.

Step 3: While the paint is drying, cut two rectangular strips (about even in size) out of the black felt.

Step 4: Cut a piece of thin wire and thread through the black felt, bending the end to secure.  Repeat this process for the second piece of black felt.

Note: This step helps keep the shape of your doors on the ornament and the wire makes it easier to mold to the glass ball ornament later.

Step 5: Now it’s time to glue the zombie hands onto the door.  Make sure you use a strong glue for this step as the hands will weigh much more than the felt and you want to make sure they are adhered properly.

Step 7: First personalize the paper with Don’t Open and Dead Inside with the black marker.  Color a small black rectangle on the door where the handles will go.  Break off a group of staples 2-3 thick and glue them onto the doors as the handles.  Let this dry.

Step 10: Glue the doors to the glass ball ornament.  It’s OK if they aren’t completely flush as it will give it a bulging out feel as if the zombies are forcing their way out.
