Admit it, we all secretly look forward to receiving Conversation Hearts when Valentine’s Day comes around. With their cute sayings, like BE MINE and CALL ME, these colorful candy hearts are always a conversation starter.  There’s something so nostalgic about these candies that I look forward to every year. That’s why this fun hanging Conversation Heart craft is sure to get you into the Valentine’s Day spirit too!

This Valentine’s Day, decorate your home with a Conversation Heart tree to make a big impact. For example, I like to hang these festive felt ornaments from a white Christmas Tree or even a decorative silver tree I already had around the house. How To Make Hanging Conversation Heart Decorations

Now you can create these calorie-free Candy Hearts decorations from the comfort of your home (no kitchen required!). Keep it classic or go modern – you can customize your Conversation Hearts with classic Candy Heart sayings like LOVE YOU or CALL ME, or make it modern with TEXT ME and QT PIE.

Supplies:

• Felt (in any color)
• Alphabet Stickers
• Heart Shape Stencil
• Marker
• Ribbon
• Scissors
• Fabric Glue

Step 1: First, using your heart stencil and marker, trace 2 hearts on each color of felt and cut. Don’t worry if you can see small traces of the marker along the edges of the felt. Just make sure to face these  on the inside so nobody will ever know! Now you should have two hearts in the same color – Heart 1 will be the front, and Heart 2 will be the back. Repeat this process for each color of felt.

Step 2: Next, cut a ribbon to hang from each Conversation Heart. Each ribbon should be about 4-5 inches long. Once these are cut, fold the ribbon in half and secure both ends to the back of Heart 1 using fabric glue. Then hold in place until the ribbon is securely fastened to the felt.

Step 3: Apply fabric glue along the inside edges of Heart 1 and attach Heart 2. Align Heart 1 and Heart 2 (in the same color felt) and gently press together to secure both hearts together.

Step 4: Finally, add fun phrases to each Conversation Heart using alphabet stickers. I like to use a ruler or a straight edge underneath each word to make sure that I attach the stickers on in a straight line.

Now you’re ready to hang these colorful cuties. This is your chance to get creative! You can decorate your home for Valentine’s Day by hanging a Conversation Heart on door handles throughout the house. (Tip: use the remaining Alphabet Stickers and spell out a child’s name on the back side of the Conversation Heart, then hang it on the child’s door handle for a personal touch!)
