That’s all you need to make adorable knit hat ornaments that are sure to make your home come alive with a pop of color!

How To Make Knit Hat Ornaments – Winter Decorations

Easy and fun to make, these knit hat ornament winter decorations can be made in approximately 15 minutes, once you get the hang of it!

Supplies need for Knit Hat Ornaments:

  • Empty toilet paper roll
  • Yarn
  • Scissors

Step 1: Using the scissors, cut the toilet paper roll into six solid rings.

Step 2: Cut 30-40 strands of yarn in 13” to 14” lengths.

Step 3: Fold one strand of yarn in half and place inside a ring.

Step 4: Take the ends of the yarn and feed them through the loop at the opposite end, around the ring.

Step 5: Pull tight until a “knot” forms at one end of the ring. Continue to do this with the rest of the strands, sliding the knots tightly together so that the entire ring is covered.

Step 6: Take two strands of yarn. Lay one loosely on the other strand and tie a tight knot around then loose ends, forming the knit hat. Trim the ends off the knot and take the loose strand and make a loop to hang the ornament from.

Step 7: Trim the ends evenly to form a pompom top on your knit hat.

That’s it! Your knit hat ornament is ready to take center stage among the winter decorations in your home! We took a broken branch, added some glitter glue, stuck it in a small vase and added crystals for snow to create this warm and fuzzy display.
