The Grateful Dead were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Palo Alto, California. Jerry Garcia was one of the founding members of the band. Fans of the band are known as Dead Heads and are closely asscociated with the hippie movement. The Grateful Dead are still selling out concert venues all of the country.
