Stand up paddleboarding is a water sport in which you stand on a surfboard and use a paddle to propel you through the water. This paddleboarder male wears a white baseball hat, light green swimshirt and a pair of navy blue board shorts. This surface water sport is popular in tropical destinations such as Hawaii and California. A relatively new sport, paddleboarding has been around since the 1960s when it was used as a training technique or way for surfing coaches to help students. Traditional paddleboarding techniques are that you lay down or sit on the board, not stand such as stand up paddleboarding.
