2018 Dated Santa on Silk (1906 Sinter Claus) Christmas Ornament

In Dutch speaking countries, Sinterklaas is the traditional winter holiday figure that is the patron saint of children. A wreath of holly berries covers his head and his arms are filled with fruit and toys.(the year 2018 is on the back) Replicated on a piece of silk, this traditional image of Sinterklass holding a bunch of international dolls is a famous painting from 1906. The silk is attached to the front of a glass ball while the year is stamped on the back in gold glitter. Around the sides and back is an ornate scroll pattern in gold glitter.
