A beloved Hummel figurine has been miniaturized into an ornament so that you can enjoy these precious children figurines at Christmas time. Berta Hummel was born in 1909 in Bavaria and studied at Munich's Academy of Applied Arts. At age 22 she entered a convent, yet continued to draw as a favorite pasttime. Eventually her drawings were translated to ceramic, and became highly colveted. This personalized ornament depicts a little boy in colorfully striped socks and red scarf, shielding himself from the rain with his umbrella, the fine German craftsmanship evident in the artistry of the fine painting and details that bring this ornament to life. Makes a great gift for a Hummel collector!
